So, to begin with the embarkation was very easy. We had stayed at the Park Shore Wakiki which had a great view of Wakiki beach and for under $100 was a fantastic deal. Roberts Hawaii picked us up on embarkation day at 2 pm very prompt and didn't take long to get to ship. We had flown in on Thursday and spent all day Friday with E Noa tours "Circle Hawaii and Polynesian Culture Center" great tour but long day. The pick up time gave us time to eat breakfast at Dukes which was a treat and surf or try Wakiki beach. The body just isn't the same at 60 so the long paddle to the break was a challenge. The cabin was ready when we boarded. With a midship balcony the space was tighter that we had experienced on the Star but after I discovered the small drawers next to the closet and all the unused space under the bed it was adequate. by the way thanks for the tip on the medicine part behind the mirror in the bathroom. This is another very compact area as my 6'3" husband would say don't drop the soap or you will have to step out to bend down to retrive it. The food was good. I miss the days of the five course gourmet meals but then again who needs to eat that much. We at mainly in the Liberty and skyline restaurants and only did the buffet a couple of mornings when excursions were early. The waiters and staff were very friendly and efficient. My room steward was great even though we didn't give her a chance to ever turn down the bed as we retire early. We went to a couple of the entertainment opportunities but if you have been on as many cruises as we have and been to see some of the best acts in Vegas it is hard to spend the time when you could be getting ready for another active day.Maui - rented a car. Make sure you get back early enough for a parking space. We returned to the ship at 8:30 and had to park in an area that said no parking but husband and I made an early morning the next day to the crater so we weren't towed. Definitely book Old Lahania Laua wonderful food and show; less than 200 people. We also hiked the crater. BeautifulBig Island - Roberts Tours VNP and Rainbow Falls- Derek did a great job showing us all the great areas and keeping it interesting. Kona went with the Catamaran Sail and snorkle. amazing we have been to the caribbean many times but the variety and clarity was great. Oh if you are expecting to see lava remember mother nature doesn't always cooperate so even though we were ready and on the balcony clouds and poor lava flow kept us from getting any great photos.Kauai-We rented a car explored on our own then booked Kauai Sea tours snorkle and dinner cruise of Napali coast. Great trip but do not attempt if you are even slightly prone to sea sickness. Took the car back that night as there is absolutely no parking available in Kauai. The waimea canyon with NCL was very good the tour guide Lisa was from Texas so my husband and I seemed to be the only ones to understand her jokes at times. but she drove the winding roads like an ace with that huge bus. As a retrospect I would have booked less and spent time laying on sunset beach and body surfing in Kauai.Whatever you do ITS Hawaii Life doesn't get better than that. Enjoy

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Midship balcony is smaller than the aft cabins but it was adequate and on the couple of nights where the seas were rough i was glad to be midship. Of course, I love higher decks. Nine worked out well not too far up or down to any activity. Port side for Napali coast but if the volcanoe is cooperating the starboard is the choice. I loved the fact that smoking was in very contained areas.
