This is one of the worst cruise experiences I have ever had. I will try to be brief and objective.Checking in to board is well organized and I must say that the cabin (I had a window with balcony) is very well laid out, spacious and comfortable, but that is about all I say say from a positive point of view. The ship itself has a very disorganized layout which becomes very annoying especially when you begin to use the buffet area which consists of long corridors of tables and chairs and islands of areas where one gets ones food. The feeling in this large buffet area (almost an entire deck floor) is that one is in a hospital cafeteria with very unappetizing areas where one sits and consumes ones selections. The staff is unfriendly, not helpful, many do not speak English and constantly one is confronted by staff cleaning the floors with mops, water buckets and putting up warning yellow signs to corner off the sections being cleaned. The experience is disgusting ! One has to experience this area to appreciate this maze which lacks any degree of logic and needless to say an unsavory venue . The food is below average with excessive repetition especially in the Lotus island which features Asian selections. One evening I had dinner in the Todd English restaurant for a supplement of US$35 pp, somewhat high compared with other cruise ships. The food was inedible, the service slow and snobbish. One fish dish ordered had an excessive fishy smell which had to be sent back. Really a very disappointing evening. The breakfast in the morning in the main dining room was acceptable. The evening menus do not offer standard, grilled selections in case one does not like the daily menu. Most ships offer, for example, a grilled steak, chicken, or fish dish.If you like to work out, the fitness area is depressing, dark with no room to lay on a mat on the floor to stretch or do Yoga type exercise. I did not see one trainer available during the trip to get some tips on how to use certain machines. The fitness areas on much small ships I have traveled on are infinitely better. If you looking for a ship with good food, and friendly helpful staff which smile(and do not frown), I would say that this experience may not be right for you. Moreover, do not look for luxury which is supposed to be built into the name of the company because there is no luxury from my standpoint. What one experiences is a superficial veneer without any inner substance which could make the 7 day crossing an experience to be remembered. I choose not to remember this experience.
