Really enjoyed the Mariner of the Seas. Loved the fitness center. The staff was friendly and we had a good stateroom attendant, waiter and asst waiter.
The food was good for the most part although the desserts were rather bland. We usually stuck with the sugar-free desserts then as they seemed to taste better than the regular desserts. Wasn't too impressed with Cafe Promenade...except the fruit salad was good.
My son enjoyed the teen club and made a lot of friends.
We met a lot of very nice people from all over the world. We ended up at a table for 10 and glad we did as we had great tablemates. Early dining was tough to get to sometimes but I couldn't get on late dining which I usually try to book.
Ports were good but it would be nice if there were some directions how to get out of the port once off the ship when you are doing it on your own. It can be a bit frustrating and some of the locals are not friendly unless you are going to use their services (i.e. taxi drivers/tour operators).
Could've used only 1 day in Istanbul instead of 2 and would have liked the last cruise day to be a sea day instead of a port day.
Disappointed in the few people who decided they could smoke "anywhere" they wanted to on the ship...that was a bit frustrating.
Overall a very good time and would definitely cruise on this ship again.
