Just sailed on the 4th cruise of Carnival's New Magic in Europe. You're going like this ship. Very well thought out especially for the "family" oriented itineraries they're planning from Galveston, Texas this fall/winter season.
Lots of space and planned programs for your kids 2-17. They divide them up well, age wise. Our 17 year old teenage girl loved the club style area for her age group. She met tons of other kids her age and they all seemed willing to hang out and have fun. Saw the 6-10 year olds a couple times eating and they were always smiling.
The NEW adult Serenity area was nice for getting away. It's quiet, great for reading or just resting without crowds. LOVED the canopy beach beds. Comfy cozy. A hot tub was right there for those who needed relax.
A big hit is the water slide. It was BIG and had enough twists and turns to make lots of people go back again and again. Lots of action on the rope walk too. Harnesses were very secure and safe.
The cabins were fine, what can you do with a certain amount of space they've tried to make efficient. The cabin staff was outstanding, friendly, and very polite. Hopefully they go to the Caribbean too. Still doing the cute animal towels.
Tried the open seating dining and liked the convenience of no time constraints. Only had one tough pork chop all week, didn't have many veggies for dinner menu. The buffet was well supplied and diverse from Burgers to burritos to sushi. New Italian restaurant was delicious, they would add peppers and sausage if you asked.
Overall very surprised by the NEW carnival. Doesn't have to be a "party" boat anymore.
