Although some of the staff on the ship are still very customer oriented, it was very noticeable that most of the staff was not trained in service and customer relation. More often than not one had to look at sourly faces and it seemed to be bothersome when the staff was approached. Particularly the bar staff since their tip was guaranteed since automatically charged to each bill every time an order was placed. One particular bar servant in the bolero lounge was extremely rude and obnoxious towards customers and even after extensive complaining this individual was not removed from the service area. And the morning and noon dining room staff also made it very clear that they much rather be somewhere else. The most common response to requests were NO or not possible. Are the cruise lines really that hurting for professional staff? They would be well advised to take another look at this situation since improvement is desperately needed. The few professional staff members that we did encounter were absolutely delightful and made it easier to overlook the rudeness of the rest of the ships staff. Our special thanks go to the concierge staff, always smiling, accommodating with a pleasant attitude and our evening dining room waiter, assistant waiter, and sommelier; they were second to none as far as service was concerned. I would like for you to know how much your professionalism is appreciated.
