Sail Date: May 2011
Cabin: Balcony

Arrived in Venice on May 28th and embarkation went smoothly and quickly. Our cabin steward was the very best. He anticipated our every need. The balcony was large with 4 lounge chairs, but the room seemed small compared to other cruise lines in same category. The bathroom was a closet, hardly enough room to turn around in.

We had anytime dining and the first night set the mood for the rest of the trip. We were in the Da Vinci and the waiter tried to force us to buy wine. After telling him we didn't want wine with dinner for the 4Th time, he finally gave up. The rest of the meal he was very condescending and we ate the rest of the evening meals in the Michelangelo room. The food was "hit and miss" The Prime Rib was great, but most other nights is was just passable. We had to send several items back because they were either cold or just barely warm.

The service on the deck was for the most part very bad. Some waiters would avoid eye contact so they wouldn't have to wait on you. We ask one for coffee and he never came back.
