We arrived in Rome one day early and stayed at the Rome Marriott Park just outside the congestion of the city. The hotel was beautiful with a fantastic spa, great shuttle service and beautiful rooms. Rome is an amazing city and even though this was our 3rd visit we still had plenty to see and do. We took a taxi to the ship at 9:30am and arrived at the port by 10:40. We were onboard the ship by 11am. Emarkment was simple and easy. Our room was very large and there was so much storage room. Bed and beding were comfortable. Our cabin attendant, Carlos, met our every needs including changing the linens very often. Windjammer Cafe had plenty to eat and there were many good choices. We especially liked the flavored water which we've never seen on any ship. No calories and delicious! Breakfast and lunch in the main dining room was delicious. They even had some quick, buffet service if necessary. Dinner was not enjoyable at the beginning. There were very few selections on the menu. On the 3rd day of the cruise Raj from guest relations called to see if we were having any problems and if we were enjoying the cruise. We informed him of the dinner problem and he contacted our head waiter who corrected the situation. Our head waiter made anything we wanted for dinner, if told the day before. He was terrific as was our waiter. If you're not happy with something on the ship you have to tell them and give them a chance to fix it.The Royal Caribbean singers and dancers was not very good. The first show was terrible and the second show was decent but they're just not very talented and the shows themselves lacked a theme and story. The ice skating show was fabulous. Great talent, scenery, and lighting. The rest of the entertainment was fair and/or bad. They definitely cut back on their entertainment budget. The pool towels are very thin and need to be replaced. I don't think it is very nice to have to give your sea pass card in order to get a towel as if you would consider taking and keeping one. I also miss the chocolates on our pillow each night.Overall, the service was excellent and the ship was very good but not outstanding.
