We sailed from June 4-11 on the Liberty with my elderly parents, brother, my wife and 2 adult children 17 and 21. Great cruise ship for inexperienced cruisers and young couples. If you have kids up to 15, college kids who like to drink, young couples or you are a 40 year old who wears your hat backwards, this is the cruise for you.

We chose this cruise because of the date only. Have sailed on Princess, Royal Carribean and Celebrity but none of those fit our itinerary, so we kind of knew what we were getting into.

First, some of the good points: Casino personnel very friendly. All staff at restaurants and rooms do a great job. All staff were very attentive to our needs.

Now the not so great stuff: At the adult pool a passenger slipped and hit head. The tile floor was very slippery. My wife and son also slipped. This woman was hurt fairly badly and it took 20 minutes before medical staff arrived. It only took about 5 minutes for security to arrive and they were more concerned about erasing people's videos and pics. She was eventually carted off in a wheel chair and took statements from us but would not allow us info to contact the person who slipped.

Elevator got stuck in atrium full of quests.

Medical emergency- passenger had to leave in Jamaica

Kids running wild all over ship, banging on doors at night. Babies crying in shows

Entertainment very poor. Comedians very mediocre, big shows very amateurish. Food was plentiful but very average.

Passengers mostly young crowd, many dressed sloppily for dinner, even the dress up nights. Staff did not really refuse anyone entry because of the way they were dressed.

Overall, I will never cruise on Carnival again and wished there was another cruise line that fit our schedule.

Cabin review: Balcony

Our room was next to the elevator near the atrium. Could hear the music, the people and the elevators all night long.

Cozumel: forget signing up through the cruise line. I found Adiel King through other TripAdvisors. We toured the island in a private air conditioned van. Adiel was a history major, loves his island and showed us things the cruise line would never do. This was the highlight of our trip. Took us to the far side of the island to show us natural rock formations, blow holes, beautiful beaches and great sites. Took us into downtown Cozumel and dropped us off at a small family owned tequila making house. Showed us how it was made and had a tasting. The tequila is very goo and very expensive. Overall, saved hundreds of dollars by booking this on my own and experienced Cozumel like a native. I can't say enough about Adiel. His communication is great before you arrive. In Jamaica, we booked Marva Shaw at www.knowjamaica.com. We didn't do a big tour, but Marva was wonderful. Highly recommend going through her for the Dunn's River Falls tour and anything else you do. She is professioal and VERY friendly.

Will save you a lot of money by not booking through the cruise line.
