My wife and I are dedicated Cundard Cruisers (Platinum WOrld Club) and have never had a bad experience on board Cunard ships. This time we travelled to Scandinavia on a short cruise and were treated to a surprise upgrade to the Princess Grill.
This was new to us and we were very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted the first night by name although we had just embarked that day. The atmosphere in the Princess Grill was very relaxed, not stuffy like we expected. The Staff were very attentive, friendly and fun. Dinner was excellent although we saw the same Menus several times.
The cabin was great with fruit, bottled water and a walk-in closet.
The bedspread was a little frayed and I discovered an empty wine-bottle under the bed. Otherwise, the bath, toilet and rest of the cabin was spotless.
The King's Court remains unchanged, being hit or miss sometimes. We enjoyed all the dishes we were served and found the selection to be quite good.
QM2 seems to be pandering a bit to the American Tourist in that the "High" Culture, (Classical Music, Oxford Learning Program, Scientific Lectures, Shakespeare Plays, etc.) seems to be less prevalent. And Multi-Media and Movies and Musicals are taking center stage. I mean, when the ship Makes a Port of Call in Elsinore, how could they not give a performance of Hamlet on board? It boggles the Mind.....
In all, we haven't been disappointed on any of our 7 Cruises with the QM2.
