Cabin was excellent for cruise ships, location of ours was wonderful at very back of ship on high deck (Aloha) with door next to exit to rear deck on ship(as if our own patio). We enjoyed coffee and relaxing on the deck as well as Whale Watching there. Food was good with few exceptions (pizza was horrible). Was not impressed with additional charge Steak House.(did not try) Dining with the same group each night at assigned table and time was OK. The Waters were OK, sometimes slow because of kitchen in-ability to keep up. We were there several times for two hrs plus eating with the slowness and missed the shows because of the time. Communication was not the best with language differences and this carried on outside the dining area. Also because of a few cases of reported viruses the Food Courts were caused to be very caution to serving yourself and had the staff serve "ALL FOOD" allowing passengers to not touch anything, as well as washing hands with lotion before entering the dining areas. This is understandable but annoying. Cruise Director Staff were very bad with a couple of exceptions. Some were "silly" and very non-responsive to passengers as if they were in there own little world. Not enough activities of interest and a few activities were un-attended by passengers. Entertainment was OK with comedian and shows. I have been on other cruises and in bad weather (hurricane in one) and this ship seemed to rock more in less inclement weather that others for some reason. Our weather was not that bad and seas looked reasonable, but the ship rolled and was hard to navigate in movement at times. I highly recommend the Cruise Critic Board Roll Call and ours had a step up leader that organized a greeting meeting of everyone and we really met some wonderful members and enjoyed the experiences of all in the get together. The embarcation at San Fransisco was not the greatest as our Bus put us off at the curb when it could have gone into the terminal and off the street but was prohibated by the Port of San Fransisco. Check In was not bad and moved at a good pace in getting On Board. Security was a little over-board with pat downs but over-all OK.

Excursions - We went Whale Watching twice once in Ketchikan and once in Juneau. We did not get close on either and no good photos because of the distance. I know there are regulations on this, but I was disappointed with the distance on both. The cost was not worth the experience as we saw better views of Whales off the Cruise Ship. Our Animal expert Alan had a seminar on Alaska and was great in explaining the animals and Whales of Alaska. Sea Plane Ride we took was not over impressive for the cost involved in Juneau. Flew out over a couple of mountains and river and back with-out any impressive sights as for my taste. I have flown much in private plane, so this probably lowered my excitement of this. The Duck Boat Tour (took 2 of these) was enjoyable and both very informative of the areas. One was San Fransisco and the other was Juneau and the cost was reasonable. We rode the city buses in Ketchikan and Juneau and saw probably as much as the Tour Buses and enjoyed talking with the local people and getting a better sense of the areas from them. Cost was great - $1.50 and $0.75. We also rode the city buses in San Fransisco at $0.75 for Sr. Citizens and saw as much as the Tour Bus we took for $30.00.

Overall Cruise was Great and Cruising I feel is one of the best ways to take a vacation and relax and this one was no exception.
