We sailed from Civitavecchia 27/5. Arriving at the dock full of expectations after a long day of travel, waiting and delayed flights we just wanted to get on the boat. First we had to check in, then they took a silly picture of us behind a boatwheel with sailorhats they made us wear. Maybe there are people enjoying these kind of things but we're not one of them.. Anyway, we got on the boat after standing in line for a while. First impression: "So much people! Hope it doesn't feel this crowded all the time"
We went to our cabin first, our luggage hadn't arrived yet so we couldn't change our clothes, we noticed it was a bit noisy, maybe from a machine room below our cabin. Otherwise our cabin was fine.
We took a walk around the ship. Everything was very beautiful and big, but perhaps a bit extravagant for my taste (allthough I knew this before i booked the cruise). The elevators were useless, you could stand and wait forever. It ended with us walking the stairs all the way to deck 15.
