Just returned from fab 7 night cruise on the DREAM with our extended family which included my husband and myself, our daughter, son-in-law and two grandaughters aged 6 & 8 plus our son, his partner and their son, Zach, aged 2.
This was booked as my 65th birthday celebration, hence taking all the family.
The day I booked this cruise last September was the same evening that the ship appeared on Watch Dog. I booked cruise at approx 5 pm and by 8 pm was wondering what on earth we had done! Nevertheless, after much heart ache and apprehension, imagine our absolute delight on arriving at our cabins how thrilled we were with them, we had booked inside cabin for ourselves and two outside plus cabins for the others, all of which were really lovely cabins.
We had a wonderful week cruising, the crew and cabin staff, especially our waiter, Alvis, were always very attentive, nothing was too much trouble which with childred aged 2, 6, & 8 was more than we could ask for. The entertainment at the shows was exceptional, every night was a different show, and matched any West End show we have seen! The food was excellent in whichever restaurant we visited and the weekly midnight buffet was truly breathtaking, like visiting an art gallery! Took many photos. As our children and their families had never cruised before, they were all very impressed and enjoyed the experience. We visited many lovely locations and enjoyed them all.
My tip to anyone thinking of travelling on The Dream, is DO NOT TAKE ANY NOTICE OF THE WATCHDOG PROGRAMME. Thomsons never said she was a new ship, just a new ship to them, and what a charming ship she is. We have travelled with Fred Olsen and Royal Carribean in the past and must say we will definitely travel with Thomsons on a cruise again, hopefully in the near future. Embarkation and Debarkation very easy and quick.
