My husband and I recently returned from a wonderful cruise aboard the Carnival Victory. Besides visiting beautiful islands every day, the ship was fun, food great, staff friendly and helpful, and plentiful entertainment.
We flew directly from Jacksonville, Fl to San Juan aboard Jet Blue, contracted with Carnival for our airport to pier transfers, and were soon at the pier. Embarkation went smoothly and we were able to go to our cabins directly. We were lucky to be assigned a balcony stateroom on the lido deck. The room was ample, plenty of storage, bath a good size and comfortable bed. After unpacking, we were off to explore the ship.
The lido deck is the happening place. Pools, hot tubs, water slide, plenty of deck chairs and of course the buffet line. There was also a deli service with custom made sandwiches and the pizza port offering at least 6 different pies 24-7. My husband couldnot walk past the 2 soft serve ice cream makers without grabbing a cone. Not to More
mention the jumbo size screen showing first run movies every nite under the stars.
There are 2 dining rooms on board. We opted for first seating at 6pm since the ship left every port by 5pm. The food was very good, with many selections each night. Also ate breakfast here since the buffet line on lido deck could get a bit congested.
Staff put a lot of effort into entertaining the guests.. Besides the nightly shows in the main lounge which were just o.k., each bar had their own flavor of entertainment. One lounge had comedy, another a piano singer, a smoking bar, a disco, a band playing in the casino area, and dozens of areas set up for picture taking. The deck parties on lido in the evening were fun, from contests to dance lessons.Spa services and fitness center open till late evening hours.
We were sad when our cruise came to an end. Definitely did not want to get off the boat. Disembarkation took about an hour, but all was organized. Transfer from port to airport went quickly. Less
