Embarkation in Vancouver was a breeze, stress free and fairly quick. Being used to the "glitzy" Carnival ships, upon entering the Mille for the first time we (DH and I) were a bit disappointed, however after a quick tour of the ship and checking out our stateroom we both felt that the ship was beautiful w/an understated elegance and sophistication. Our state room was lovely, roomy and clean. The bathroom had plenty of storage and the shower was much bigger than the Princess cruise I was on just before this one. The service is impeccable in all areas dining, stateroom, spa, etc. The therapy pool is awesome...the ultimate in relaxation! The ship did experience a norovirus outbreak the second day at sea, but I think the precautions that Celebrity took probably limited the outbreak to as few a possible. So even though there was no self-service in the buffet lines and everyone had a squirt of sanitizer upon entering the ship and the buffet area I appreciate the effort of the staff in keeping the outbreak to a minimum.I booked excursions through private companies reviewed on CC and was happy w/all ....but I must make special mention of our Whale Watch excursion w/Harv and Marv in Juneau. We were lucky enough to go out w/Jay Beedle one of the owners and he made our trip so memorable. The boats are small and only hold 6 people so you can get up close and personal w/the whales...I can't say enough good things about this company...it was an unforgettable morning!Debarkation was especially easy. Celebrity has a program that prints your boarding passes, takes your bags to the airport and checks them through to your final destination...all for $20/person. It was well worth it! Only issue we experienced is that we didn't receive an invitation to the Connections party we signed up for. We called guest services several times but by the time we found out the when and where it was too late..too bad I was really looking forward to meeting everyone.
