We got to the port of San Diego and embarkation went quite smoothly. Everyone was very helpful and polite.

The ship was not as glitzy as other Carnival ships we have traveled on. It was also not up to par (cleaniness wise). Throughout the week bags of cabin laundry were left out. We also saw the same dirty areas on the carpeting on various decks. Usually these are spot cleaned on other cruise lines we have sailed with.

The dinning room was very beautiful, but most of the staff had not a clue on service. People would ask for things and it took quite awhile to get. As for the quality of the food- it was much better than on Princess Cruise Line (more choices) but there was room for improvement. The Lido deck was great but closed too early and the dinner selections up there were very inadequate. If you made it back late from a tour you had a choice of Deli or Pizza. The overall food and service would be about 21/2 out of 4 stars.
