Just arrived back from the Norway fjords on the Grand Princess and Oh dear!Oh dear! 24 days in dry dock for a major refit and yet all over the ship still being painted - the paint fumes unbearable at times in our cabin - and with children to watch out for a nightmare. Large majority of passengers British but no European cup match, ran out of English tea on second day, stamps on the first day, no ship newspaper of events from home. Children's club very small, no outside play, no family high tea with all the little darlings favorite foods, television program choice absolutely dire i,e, polka channel 24-7 and American sport channel but no British programs. No kettle or cups or tea and coffee in any rooms so everything had to be delivered. If you want to laundry a truly surreal process where you have to exchange British money in the money exchange machine for 4 American quarters but pay the $3.50 to do this to buy washing powder so beware take your own!!!!!! Don't book any trips unless you want to take out a second mortgage - first stop Stavanger lovely Best part of the cruise - embarkation and departure procedure very smooth and the free ice cream
