My daughter and I went on our first cruise to celebrate her 21st birthday. All in all we had a pretty good time. Great weather everyday, but extremely HOT! Most of the other passengers were very nice and friendly. Hardly any children on the ship ( probably since they were still in school), but the ones that were on were well behaved.

We flew into New Orleans the day we were sailing out. Lucky for us the flight was on time. We took the bus from the airport to the ship for about $33 round trip. I would recommend the bus as it was nice and we got a little tour of the city on the way. The bus is then waiting for you when you are ready to go back to the airport. We had to wait in a very, very long line to check in though. We were in the line for over an hour. Once we got on the ship our room was ready for us. The room was big enough for the two of us. The only two things that were bad about the room were the hair dryer and the air conditioning. My daughter and I both have long hair, and it took awhile to get dried. The room was never cool, even with the A.C. on high. That was probably the most frustrating part. We enjoyed having the large window, but we ended up on the ocean side in every port so we couldn't see much.

I was not impressed at all with the food. I am not a picky eater, but the food has a long way to go. We ate in both of the included restaurants, and the buffet. The breakfast in the buffet was okay, but by day 5 I was tired of it. All the desserts were pretty bad. The cheesecake was probably the best thing, but even that was served warm, and in my opinion cheesecake needs to be well chilled. My daughter and I went to the chocolate buffet night which is at 10:30, so I had to woken up to go. It was not worth getting out of bed for. Everything looks very good, but nothing tasted good at all. How hard can it be to make a brownie or chocolate cake?? We ate at Cagney's one night. Worth the price for sure. The food was wonderful and the wait staff was great. Why can't all the food be like that? By the time we went home we were both craving a homemade dinner. Drinks were expensive, and it is too bad there aren't more that are included. I think $9 for a pina colada is a little pricey.
