In 2006, we took our first ever cruise, and it was on the Norwegian Sky. We've cruised on the Sky twice since then, most recently in May of 2011. Poor dear, she's starting to show her age. One of the oldest ships in a young fleet, the carpets are starting to show wear in high traffic areas, the pool towels are stained and worn and our state room needed a few repairs to doors and bathroom dispensers. Not the plush surroundings we experienced in 2006! Whatever she lacked in appearance, she certainly made up for it in service and great food! We had our usual great meals, and enjoyed first rate entertainment! The snorkelling was amazing, as usual and every time we go to Great Stirrup Cay, we are more impressed, as improvements are made. Our cabin steward anticipated our every need and our room service breakfast was delivered promptly each morning! The Bahama 'Island Hop' is wonderful for a first time cruiser. There are no 'sea days' so each day is busy with a new port. We stayed aboard on the Freeport stop, because it's not our favourite trip, but many people had a wonderful time there. Having no sea days also means that if you tend to get sea sick, you are unlikely to on this trip. I find that I struggle a bit on longer trips. Embarkation and disembarkation was seamless, and we were sad to leave, as always. We sail next in November of this year - on The Pearl. Counting the days!!!
