Let me preface this by saying that this was my first cruise. I decided to go big and take an Alaskan cruise. My girlfriend has been on other cruise lines and was excited to experience this with me.Embarkation - It went fine. Seemed like organized chaos. Made it onboard in around 30 minutes.Stateroom - Amazing. Being tall I was a little worried about going on a cruise. At 6'5 I found that the room was more than adequate. The shower was about an inch too short but not uncomfortable. The bed was awesome. No eggshell required. The mini-suite the nice.First dining - Terrible. In a word. When I read and hear about cruises the first and last thing you always hear about is the food. I had such high expectations and those expectations were dashed on my first dining room experience. Maybe it was the first night jitters. Maybe it was the quick turnaround between cruises but the first night sucked! Food was bland, unexciting, There was no texture, no flavor. Almost ruined my cruise. My girlfriend was actually embarrassed because she had spoken so highly about the food on the cruises. Entertainment - geriatric. It was almost as if everything they had planned was custom tailored to the 50 and older crowd. How much Rat Pack stuff should I have to deal with? If you are in to Trivia, Bingo and 80s Karaoke, then you should do fine on this cruise.Buffet - I was always able to find something that I could eat in the buffet but nothing that truly wowed me. You have an ice cream bar but nothing to make a sundae. Amazing fresh Belgian waffles but no hot syrup or hot fruit to top them. It was palatable but just lacking. Chef's table - PHENOMENAL! My girlfriend surprised me with this. It was worth $150. It would have been worth $250, $350. It was quite possibly the highlight of my cruise. Chef Nilo, sommelier Claudia, and Maitre D'hotel Ignacio made this experience something I will remember forever.

Cabin Review

Great cabin. Fabulous. Lots of storage. Great views on this cruise. Comfortable. I am 6'5 and 280lbs (at least when I started the cruise) and I was able to move around everywhere in my cabin.
