Pre hotel stay at the Intercontinental (great deal on Price line. Nice to see the ships leave on Friday ans the ships come into port Saturday morning. Miami South Beach was so a blast. Arriving on board around 11:45 meant a quick and smooth embarkation. Being greeted with a nice drink, we quickly enjoyed our lunch and in our room by 1:00 pm. What a well designed ship. Rarely do you walk down anyone's hallways but your own. A tip. If you are on one of the lower decks (we were on deck 6 starboard, Alf. Consider staying on the starboard side. the smokers will be on deck 5 PORT. Such a well designed ship. The only two areas not used was the wine cellar (the e spigot wine delivery system is failure. The other area was project Earth area; another failed concept. We will look forward to the craft beers on the newest ships next year. Everything else seemed to work well. The glass blowing and the two specialty lectures were BIG hits. About 10 lectures each on aviation and cruise ships by two wonderful gentlemen (Dan Paterson and John Maxtone Graham) My wife set her schedule around their talks. We ate in the main dining which was a real delight thanks to our table mates (all three females had the same birthday dates), the waiters and the food presentation. We were wowed. Sure there were some average dishes, but always presented well and alternatives. The shows... When you start with a 30 million dollar stage and talented individuals where can you go wrong. After 19 cruises it was our favorite. The ports were fine. Tip- If the weather is great book your own taxi just outside. We had great weather, great friends, a great driver and just a really good time. Second tip- Cherbourg. Book a private D-day tour.. Not one on the ship. D day tours was great! 8.5 hours of WOW. Met many fun people great varied folks. Being a bridge player we had so much fun despite no bridge director. Thank you to all my partners and opponents-- We laughed so much and still played bridge. Shame on you Celebrity not having a director on a crossing or even bringing water even when you said you would. Entertaining would start at 8:30 am and for the night owls continue in the atrium and up top till late in the evening. Que the cruise directer was a class, fun act. A perk was having our travel agency CruCon on board. Thanks to Judy and Tara we had even more fun and a great chance to book a good deal. In the evening if you simply want peace and a beautiful sunset, head up to the covered pool, just in the hot tub and feel like you have the whole ship to yourself. So in summary- what a nice ship, GREAT friends and we are returning to another TA in April 2012
