My husband and I booked a last minute cruise on the Triumph and let Carnival pick our room for the best price. We opted for an interior room for the first time and I was nervous because I tend to be a bit claustrophobic at times. I need not have worried because we ended up on Lido Deck, forward, close to the "secret door" that leads out to the open area. We liked everything about our room except for the fact that by having our twin beds pushed together it unfortunately left no way to enter the bed other than from the foot of the bed due to the closets and drawers. We had to literally crawl up in to the bed.We had only cruised on Fantasy class ships until now and I felt the ship was too crowded for me. The lines seemed longer for the buffet and also the pool usually had no empty chairs. The ice machines on Lido were broken much of the time as well as the juice and yogurt/ice cream machines. I think the Triumph carries about 900 more people that the Fantasy ships but the boat isn't any longer so all those folks have to go somewhere. We did not eat in the MDR as is our usual custom. Too busy having fun to take the time to dress up. We did enjoy the Hong Kong restaurant although it was only open a couple of hours daily. My husband liked the Deli and thought the Reuben sandwiches were as good as any he's had.We went to several shows and enjoyed them. I am a musician/music teacher so I usually like any kind of entertainment that involves music. The Newlywed Game was the same as we've seen on all our other cruises but still good for a few laughs. Took another towel folding class and still can't make those towels look anything like animals. The thing that we disliked the most was the Past Guest Party. We could NOPT get servers to wait on us and after an hour there had only gotten one drink. Even though we stopped servers and asked them to help us they always said they would be back but never did. If we cruise on the Triumph again, we will avoid the PGP.All in all it was an enjoyable cruise but in the future we hope to stick to the Fantasy class ships. In fact we are cruising again on the Elation next week.

Cabin Review

Lido Deck 9215-lots of closet space, near the secret door, quiet, temperature just right; no room to walk around the bed on either side.
