I chose to let Carnival book our flights cause I didn't want to loose my cruise because of bad weather or anything else. It was the end of February and this year was extremely bad. We were very lucky and didn't have any real issues getting there. Our flight which I didn't like was at like 5.30 am. Which meant we had to be in Columbus at 4.30am. Well I am a night owl so I didn't sleep hardly at all I was so excited. By the time our flight got there with no delays we booked the Carnival Shuttle to get us to the airport. Pretty easy. The worst part is trying to find out where you wait. Just so you know. Its down by baggage each carrier has their own place you wait. But in Miami its the bottom floor then they have you line up and wait for your bus. Our bus came they single filed us like kids to the bus, loaded us then we waited for something like half hour on a hot bus in Miami. I don't remember if they loaded anyone else or not. They didn't explain the hold up. They are very adamant the whole trip don't forget to tip everyone. From your baggage people to the bus drivers to the baggage hands at the port. If I had to tip everyone a dollar or two for my bags that touched them, I would have spent well over 200.00. That is ridiculous and you kinda feel obligated. I chose who I gave money too. The ones I felt made a decent living they didn't get tipped just because. So once we get there you finally hand off your baggage and off into the port to wait. Which really wasn't a bad wait. It went rather quickly we had all our stuff done. So we didn't get delayed any very smooth process. Once on the boat we had a few to look around but waiting on our room since we were so tired it very very hard to do. So if your reading my post go find something to do till later. I so wanted to explore the ship but disembarkation was in a few hours and I was tired and my feet hurt I have been traveling since 3am and its now like 1.30pm. The room and the balcony is breathtaking. I will never ever book a different cruise unless I have to and want to cruise. A balcony is a must, even for the poorer of cruisers. That would be me. OK, so once I freshened up, it was time for disembarkation that process seemed to take forever as we were last to leave the port. And we had to turn around. Well if you have ever cruised you know the boat doesn't move very fast in port, not enough room. Once we got to sea it was so nice, I am a water lover, I wanted to find stuff to do I couldn't sleep now. So I started to venture out. I found for a couple on the Liberty there really wasn't much to do if unless you like to sit and drink and gamble. The shows were usually packed and no seating available. There was no place to dance for adults except for one night that was appealing. That was the Atrium area I think where the piano was. Mardi gras Night was amazing. It's not for kids though. The Liberty has quite a children's program for teens its great for keeping them busy. I was bored out of my mind, but I was happy and content in my cabin or gambling. I'm not a big gambler, but I found out my other half,,,is not good at blackjack. I just play for pleasure and his habit is expensive...lol. I was very disappointed in the venues where you could go here music and dance this was not a boat for couples. Unless you were a drinker. The food. I had big issues with the food. I will say at first the Warm Chocolate melting cake if your a chocolate fan is to die for. I had to have that every evening. I have to tell you I was worried about the food but was like oh don't worry they have something for everyone. NOT. OK in each of the dining rooms they serve the same exact food that they do on the buffets each night. They are all the same just served differently. So if you don't want to dress go buffet they are having the same thing, you just don't get your desserts. The breakfast is the same and so is lunch. Everyday was different but they were all the same on all floors. That is not appealing to me. I want to walk to one restaurant and get one entree and another a different one. Not all the same thing. Kinda defeats the purpose of having different restaurants don't you think? Ok, off the Cozumel. Loved it. I recommend booking your own excursions if you can, it is so much cheaper. I booked the dolphin one and we rented scooters to drive all over the island. The other side of the island has amazing waves. Don't swim its more for sunbathing. I wish I would have known how far everything was and we didn't have a watch. Downfall on outside. So we were constantly worried about time. Watch what you buy. Honestly we stopped at a street side market and he told us this phenomenal price for stuff then I happened to look at the sign and it said blankets 5 dollars or something he was gonna sell us that blanket for 65.00. RIPOFF. We ate at Torros place so if you go to Cozumel Look up Torros place and tell them the people from WV sent you. He is a great guy. Great food too. And I had a problem with my bank card and he let me call the states and fix it. What a great MAN. Hope you are alright TORRO. You can rent scooters anywhere. Or cars or anything. Those scooters are dangerous but fun fun fun. We don't like that they leave so soon from the port. I wish we had more time at each of the ports cause as we were leaving we saw all sorts of stuff we could have done. Grand Cayman. Do not do the jeep ride. I am from WV and it is not a 4 Wheel drive at all in no way shape or form. You drive a dirt rd in a county park. And the beach time at the little areas with that are ridiculous. Very small. Food was good on that one though. Oh and Grand Cayman their livestock is chickens they are everywhere.....very very funny. We did Hell and that was cool. Jamaica. Wow loved Jamaica all but some of the people. OK Dunn's River Falls is good but make sure you want to take your kids on a slippery wet dangerous falls. I like the top of the mountain where the bobsled right was. I did that with my other half and he went so fast that the man heard me all the way from the top. He was like good job Mon heard her all the way down. It was fun. I would have like more time at that restaurant and the pool at the top. Very nice pool with a slide. We just didn't have enough time. Also the long ride to the top is kinda romantic. Beautiful. I didn't want to leave. I had so much fun. I will go back to Jamaica. Watch the guys at the falls on the outside or inside they will try to swindle you. Stick to the main area, don't let them ask you your name and remember the word NO Mon. They will put a necklace on you and follow you for money. I was scared to death. Then he took the necklace back. It was made out of watermelon seeds. They really had me scared, I'm a chicken anyway. But, I will go back I just know now what I want to do and where. Then the days at sea. Wow, I love sea days. Just a day to relax and catch the sun. Feb a little chilly but good overall. I was dark when I got back. Its gone already. I'm sad. I had a great time other then those small problems but its a nice ship. People were nice. Food was OK. Go chocolate I promise you will love it. And most of all have a great time.
