This was our first cruise we had been on and we had read the bad reviews and saw Watchdog! We were a bit worried and considered changing ships but now we're glad we never! There was six people in our party 5 adults and one 20 month old child. From the moment we arrived at Palma airport from Glasgow and easily found the Thomson rep til we left a week later the staff on board were amazing! The ship itself was a bit dated but was spotless and every day there was a team of men and women cleaning the ship from outside in. The waiting, bar staff and chefs in the Lido restaurant were very friendly and would not walk past anyone without saying hello. All staff kept our 20 month child entertained and brought him anything we would like for him for breakfast, lunch or dinner whether it was on the menu or not. The entertainment on board was excellent and the house band "Strum Jam" in particular were brilliant. Lauren, Ash, Paul Jr and the ginger warrior were so friendly. Cruise director Paul and his show team were very talented and my wife and i enjoyed three of there shows. The ports of call were all nice with Barcelona standing out. We did the sporting tour of Barcelona which cost £35 each but was worth every penny as the trip took in most of Barcelona as well as the cathedral, Nou Camp, Olympic stadium and village and old Catalunya grand prix course. As with everything on the Dream, the tour ran like a military operation and no time is wasted. The guide Pedro was funny and informative. The dress code is also very relaxed on board and you don't feel obliged to dress up. We did though and had great nights in the Medusa lounge with bands, quizzes and competitions. I would advise to get the unlimited Drinks package when going on board, as we did, as the drinks menu is very good with 90% of drinks coming into the AI category. But to be honest the staff really make this an amazing holiday and were saving up for next year. Happy sailing!
