Just back from an awesome week on Carnival Victory .... this was our second time on her after doing the western Caribbean in 04....This was definitely a GREAT cruise !!!! We didn't have that perfect clear blue Caribbean sky weather unfortunately , but it could have been much worse ....We did have some spots of rain on a couple of the islands and most of the week was overcast and cloudy but the sun was definitely out as our tans can attest to.... travelled with my wife and 2 sons ( 13 & 17 ).... Arrived early in San Juan & were on board by noon.... Showers prevented any exploring in SJ , but we were exhausted after leaving home very early for a 6AM flight out of JFK....Embark was very smooth and lunch was served as soon as we boarded... rooms were ready by 2 ( we had a balcony w/ the boys across the hall in an inside ,,,8316 & 8344 )The ship was in great shape after a recent refurb and I have nothing but good things to say about her...We had early seating in the Pacific DR and had a terrific wait team .... Food was superb all week !!! We had dinner all 7 nights in the Pacific and cannot say enough about how good the food really was .... breakfast was always buffet ( except last day in the Pacific ) and it was always tasty... ship was crowded but we never had any complaints about lines or waiting... Deli & pizza were great , as well as the grill for late night burgers or after returning from ports.... The crew was very friendly and the ship in general had a cool vibe to it.. Dave the asst CD was a really funny guy and we enjoyed watching him @ deck parties or pre- show... I am certain he will be one of the top CDs on Carnival some day....The shows were mostly good and the comic club was a blast...There were some pretty funny comedians for our cruise and we enjoyed them all....Overall we really loved the ship , food , energy , clubs , lounges , rooms ,and especially the itinerary.... St Thomas : weather started out a lil rainy at first , so slept later and took a cab to Megen's Bay by 10 AM... sun managed to come out so we really had a great time and a nice beach day.... Day at Sea was great w/ beautiful weather for the most part and enjoyed just laying out up on deck 10 and all the typical activities for a day at sea.... Barbados : took the Silver Moon 24 person catamaran tour and had an EXCELLENT day !!! weather again was iffy @ first but it did clear upand turned out beautiful.... Crew was awesome and made it feel like a private charter... 2 stops for snorkeling ( turtles & reef and a barge wreck )and then anchored off the resort where Tiger Woods got married for a delicious lunch... would definitely recommend this ...... St Lucia : did the land sea tour w/ Spencer Ambrose... again rainy at firstbut clearing by afternoon for what turned out to be one of our favorite islands and excursions.....Spencer had a very organized crew and and we enjoyed the land tour in the morning , and REALLY enjoyed the time at the beach under the Pitons and returning by sea to our ship....Marigot Bay was to die for as well as the rest of the coastline we cruised past on our way back to Castries.... St Kitts : booked "The Tour" w/ Thenford Gray and really enjoyed this port too .... weather again started out rainy and cloudy but cleared by noon...Mr Gray was a great host in a comfortable bus and explained many facts about this beautiful island....toured all of the highlights of St Kitts ( Brimstone Fortress , Batik factory ) and ended our day w/ a few hours @ Frigate Bay beach ( I think , although not sure if that was the name of the actual beach ) St Maarten : cloudy and a lil rainy upon arrival but again clearing and turning out to be a beautiful day ... took a cab to Mullets Bay beach and had the whole thing to ourselves practically... What a BEAUTIFUL spot !!!!perfect white sand and blue , blue water and because of the weather was almost deserted...spent a few hours there & walked to Maho beach around noon for what was to be an amazing afternoon... seeing the planes land 20 feet over your head was totally awesome and we had a really good time.... Cannot even begin to describe how bummed we are to be back home already !!!!!I could have easily stayed on and done the whole cruise again for another week..I would definately reccomend this cruise to anyone thinking about going.. Great Ship w/ an awesome itinerary !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!cant wait to cruise Europe on the Breeze or Magic in a couple of years for our 25th wedding anniversary !!!!!!
