Sail Date: Apr 2011

Us: Family of 3 - Mom/Dad/Son (5yrs old). Have cruised on NCL, Royal, Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard and Disney. I had sailed on Princess before, but hubby had not. Cabin: Obstructed View - E 505. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our cabin. The view was obstructed, but not totally. PLENTY of closet space and drawers/shelves for 3 passengers on a 10 night cruise. Bathroom was rather small, but functional. Cabin stewart, Phong, was one of the best we have had on our over 30 cruises. We had Any Time dining.... he was superb in cleaning our cabin. He must have had hidden cameras to know when we were coming and going as we ate different times each night - LOL.Food: We did eat in the dining room most nights with Anytime Dining. All entrees were outstanding in our opinion. We prefer to eat at a table for "us". The longest wait was 15 minutes. We enjoyed a drink in the lounge outside of the dining room while waiting. We chose not to spend the extra money on the specialty restaurants and really don't feel with missed much as we enjoyed the main dining rooms very much.Kids Club: Our son is 5 years old. He has been on Royal Caribbean, Carnival, NCL and Disney. This is the first ship he has begged us to take him to the kids club. He absolutely loved it. The staff was incredible. Being that this was a 10 night cruise, the end of April, there were not many kids. Princess Cays offers a pool to those kids participating in the kids club on the island. Ports: We went to - St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Barbados, Antigua, St. Lucia and Princess Cays. We had never been to Barbados or Antigua before so we did Princess Shore Excursions on those island. Barbados City Tour which we found to be very interesting. In Antigua we did the Pirate Boat which was fun, but turned out to be a "party" boat. For some reason I thought there would be some type of pirate show for my son. Crowd: The average age on this sailing appeared to be late 50's/60's, seasoned cruisers. We did receive a few raised eyebrows when fellow passengers saw we had a small child. I do think they changed their mind when they saw how well behaved he was! I honestly think he was better mannered than some in the dining room - LOL. Disembarkation: Very Smooth....great job!Summary: We were very impressed with Star Princess. The service was outstanding. We are looking to book again on Princess in March.
