Hello, I just got off the Sky last Friday had an excellent time! Plenty of relaxation and entertainment! My girlfriend and I went for the first time after reading lots of mixed reviews and I can tell you we both had an amazing time on the ship and at the ports of call. We stayed in Miami Sunday night and boarded Monday afternoon around 2, lunch was served on board, BBQ, and had drinks laying on the deck in the bright sunshine. Boarding was very easy from the port, we were on in about 45 mins max. The crew was very friendly and helpful the entire time, did not encounter one single person who didn't smile and make us feel welcome and comfortable the whole time. The freestyle dining was great, I can't imagine cruising any other way! We tried the sit down and buffet style restaurants and found them to be very good, nothing you wouldn't expect from any buffet. The one on the top deck in the rear of the ship was very good... good sandwiches and light fare. The waitstaff in the sit down options, palace and crossings went above and beyond, and this was all included! They pulled chairs out and placed napkins in our laps, the high level of service was a simple unexpected surprise. We also tried Cagney's with the $25 cover per person, and also had the filet lobster tail and king crab for an extra $10 a person, it was great food and exceptional service, great wine list and all. The shrimp cocktail appetizer had shrimp the size of a hot dog. We booked 2 excursions, Nassau sightseeing and semi-submarine tour, and Freeport deserted island beach and snorkeling and they were both very fun and informative. The guides were very professional and nice, not to mention great sense of humors. We saw sights they pointed out, and they caught us conch and prepared it aboard the snorkeling tour. We only paid $100 and $70 respectively and it was very much worth it, there is a lot to do in Nassau but I wouldn't get off the ship in Freeport without an excursion booked, there is nothing to do in port! The stateroom was sufficient, bed was comfy, the oceanview was nice to have, wish we got a balcony of course but that will be next time! We attended three shows in the Stardust theater and found them to be very good! One was a comedian, another broadway musical show tunes, and a variety show the last night. For free, you cannot complain, they were enjoyable and about 45 minutes so it was perfect to move on and do something else and not feel tied up in a lengthy show. Definitely recommend seeing the comedian! The white party was great, a lot of fun in the late night hours with great DJs and music. The casino was fun, all newer games, played some texas hold em no waiting for a seat and same with blackjack they had $10 tables which surprised me as a casino patron, never see table limits that low with seats open.I can't find anything to complain about, after embarking when the decks were crowded everyone seemed to go their own ways, it was never crowded, and there were many evenings when we laid on the deck and had nobody near us for 20-30 feet. Great balance on this trip where you could be right in the middle of all the action or relax in peace and quiet.
