I wanted to take a vacation with my husband, two sons and daughter that was "out of reach". No phones, texts, voice mails, e-mails,etc, just us....that vacation is a cruise. I booked us on the May 19th-22nd cruise to the Bahamas,on the Carnival Sensation, one suite, and one ocean view. This poor ship needs to be retired, the rooms are old, and the ship is worn. I have never been on a cruise with such unhappy, rude staff, I was really taken back with the treatment we recieved. Don't bother to ask a question, because they look at you like they don't understand, or don't care. It is also one of the most unorganized ships I have been on. Getting on the ship at the beginning, in port, and getting off at the end of the cruise was a nightmare, because it was not organized, everyone was pushing and cutting into lines, the staff did not know what to do. The suite air conditioning was not working right and they could not fix it, it was warm and muggy the in the room. Also the outlets in the suite worked only after we had to have them come and fix them. The shower worked fine, but if you are taller than 5'9" forget washing your hair standing up. The food in the dinning room was good, but the buffets had very limited offerings. Again, the service in the non-dinning rooms was bad, tables not being cleared, and staff looking very unhappy and only speaking to each other. The pool deck is large enough with enough chairs for all, but don't plan on cooling off in the pool, LOL, it's only big enough for maybe 20 people if you stand together very still. They have added a water slide on the top deck, this helps to keep the kids out of the tiny main pool, but the pool is too small. Now, if all of this hasn't sent you looking for another ship, or better yet a different cruise line, maybe this will. Apparently someone who had access to our suite, and our other stateroom, decided that we needed a wake up call at 6AM the morning of disembarkation. The cabin steward was banging on the door across the hall at 6:30AM. Being in a suite usually means that you can be one of the last people to leave in a relaxed manner, but I guess they wanted a head start cleaning the rooms on our floor and decided to wake everyone up early. We were not happy.Ok, I do want to let you know that despite all of the complaining, it was wonderful spending time with the family. If you need to get away from everyone a cruise is the perfect way to do it. We will do it again, but on Norwegian Cruise lines. Remember when cruising you do get what you pay for.

Extended Balcony Grand Suite

Cabin ES

The suite was OK in size but old. The Balcony was great. Hated the bath/shower, too small and shower head very low for normal to tall people.
