Non Smokers Beware

Sail Date: May 2011
Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
Embarkation: Venice

Overall the cruise was very poor with adequate food. The staff were reasonable but not great and the boat was clean.

The worst part about the cruise was the company's smoking policy. Apart from the dining rooms and the theatre smoking was allowed anywhere else. It was possible to smoke in all of the lounges, anywhere around the pools, in the casino; it was quite dreadful and I was surprised that smoking in enclosed areas was legal!. Due to the cool weather the glass roof was kept on one of the pools but because everyone in there was smoking it smelt disgusting and for non smokers was unusable.

The company also has a bizarre policy with regard to water, coffee and tea. It is only possible to obtain these in the self service food area and must be purchased in any other area. There was not even water available in the gym or spa areas.

I would definitely not recommend this cruise line to anyone. It was by far the worst cruise that we have taken in recent years Less
