After reading several of the reviews posted here, I was a little bit worried about what I would find when I boarded Carnival Destiny. I can say this now: there was NOTHING to worry about. I honestly can't see how some of these people wrote such awful reviews. The ship was beautiful. It reminded me a lot of the Carnival Freedom I was on two years ago. The ship was well maintained. There were plenty of areas of hang out inside and outside. The food and service was amazing. We had NO problems with any of the staff we encountered. Our Head Waiter and Waiter were excellent. We enjoyed delicious meals and 5-star service. One night we went to the dinner buffet on the lido deck and I wished we had gone to the main dining room! The dinner buffet was a little disappointing but it was nice since we only wanted something light. The ship had plenty of activities going on at all. We really enjoyed some of the "game show" type activities as well as the comedy shows. I was impressed with the comedians they had on the ship. The one downside was the breakfast/lunch buffet lines were SO long. I can't fault Carnival though because they had plenty of food out. Maybe Carnival cruisers are just a slower breed? haha. I would recommend going to the Main Dining Room for breakfast every morning. You can get eggs made-to-order and you don't have to stand in line! For the price we paid for this cruise ($349) we got an AMAZING cruise. Please do not let the other reviews discourage you. Especially if you have sailed with Carnival before, you will love this cruise!
