Sail Date: Apr 2011

I asked the front desk on the Golden Princess to tell me where the "Aces card room" was on the ship. I showed them the deck plan that showed a card room on deck 5. They had no answer. As of May 12, 2011 it still shows an Aces card room. That was the only complaint had with the staff. All in all they where great. They did all they could to make a pleasant cruise. I felt the entertainment was below par. Except for 2 or 3 shows, it was below my cruise standards. One act Don Ware, was a total flop the day we saw him. And I told the front desk how bad he was. The show rooms where small for most the shows. If you did not get to the room 30-45 minutes early, forget about a good seat. Any later you where standing. Constant painting and routine upkeep was a drag also. I feel if you want to do rail painting or ship painting, do it in dry dock. We lost out outside balcony for 2 days due to painting. Plus a pool was closed for painting. I know they have several pools, but please not on my dime.Meal service was below our expectations. Mothers day was just a regular meal. My wife expected a bit more for all the Mothers on the cruise. I know the cruise need to make money. But I paid my freight up front. How about giving the travelers a fair shake. The casino as expected was high takeout affair. One like myself would expect better odds. And the Bingo is a total rip off. The last day I estimated 600 players at $20 a card thats a rake in of $12,000. The payout was about $4250. This was just the last day. Four games in 12 nights paying out about $850. I feel they do very well with bingo. Like I said the passengers do not get a break. And what is with all the "art" work. Paintings up the gazoo. A lot of ship space and time is devoted to this gimmick. Another real money maker, and buyer beware. I was expecting more to do. Entertain me. Thats what I am paying for.

Cabin Review

Cabin AA

All in all I would not spend my money on this cruise again. I am glad I went and had a good time. I just expected more, and got less.

Thanks,
