The staff on the Marco Polo do everything they can to make the experience an enjoyable one. To say that they work hard is an gross understatement. I saw staff on stage entertaining to a very high standard one moment, and serving drinks on another deck just moments afterward. Whatever they are paid should be doubled !
The Fjords were stunning and we were very impressed with the choice and variation of ports of call.
Norway can be very expensive, but you can save money by shopping around for trips while visiting places rather than booking ahead or on board.
Food was of a high standard with a good selection and service also very good.
Cabins are basic but comfortable, and who goes on a cruise to sit in a cabin anyhow ?
Again book trips yourself to save quite a large chunck of money. Don't go anywhere near the blue double deckers however because although they advertise a hop on/hop off tour it is neither a tour or hop on hop off. We found this out but did succeed in getting a full refund. The small train type tour is good and takes you higher into the surrounding hills than standard mini buses.
Lovely unspoiled countryside with friendly accommodating people. The railway trip into the mountains is a must, but we saved £11 a ticket simply by getting our tickets on the day rather than booking on board.
