I feel compelled to write a review about the cruise.May I say the previous review by Mr Wonka is absolutely spot on.This cruise has nicely filled the hole that Ocean Village left by moving to sunnier climes. The entertainment was pretty dire, although hats off to the ice team for putting shows on in choppy seas. The early comedian was so bad we would have walked out had we not been sat near the front. Mike Doyle was marginally better but maybe should concentrate on his act and not dropping names on who he had met...yawn!!The magician towards the end was as charismatic as Ferrol-(not a compliment).Captain Ahab took great delight in announcing to all that we had docked-irrespective of the time in the morning. The ship:We had a room overlooking the promenade; we have sailed many times before and thought this would be novel. It was certainly that! We lost count of how many times we failed to get to sleep in the early hours due to the relentless groundhog day tune of 'hi ho silver lining' coming from the Dog and Badger pub. Why people spend money to get away then spend their time trying to be at home is beyond me.The lifts were an absolute joy- we lost count of the people waiting ages to get in a lift to go down one floor. Kids playing day, night and dawn in the lifts was a treat for all.The 1am curfew was non existent. Windjammer was a great place to people watch-pile it high and leave most of it was the general rule of thumb here. Food was good in its defence though.Main Dining was ok.The shops were hugely overpriced-I suggest to RCI they lose the Barbers and replace it with a Football shirt shop, far more trade this way!The ports-shut!!! (that could also be a typing error and be accurate)Ferrol???? Did a brown envelope change hands for us to go there?Regards the weather, we should have packed a kite in hindsight, although RCI cannot be blamed for that! All in all, if you want a family holiday and Blackpool is fully booked then this is the place to go.If like us, you like the cruise experience then I recommend something completely different.
