Used a travel agent to help because she had actually been on this ship! We needed reassurance that there would be someone whom we could call if needed. Fran was great.. But we spent hours researching on line and speaking with peers who also had been on the Oasis. I felt we had the "tools" to make this a great trip.A must to set all your ducks in a row: Set Sail pass, waivers, shows, dining options, ordered luggage tags, ship layout, wine pkg., excursions ahead. Talk with your travel group ahead of time as to what you would like to do. *Travel to FLA-Booked in April same day/early am air travel to avoid weather anxiety. Fort Lauderdale airport only 10 minute cab ride $13.50 - total (we also gave nice tip). Did not do so on return. Waited for van to fill up and it was $10 each for four $40. So take a cab. Put heavy sweater and unnecessary items in checked luggage for later. Used ordered tags!*Easy entry to RC terminal. Checked in at 11 am Waited briefly in holding area. very organized. Boarded ship with backpack/carry on (with wheels) : swim suit/sandals/personal item/change of clothes, hat, necessary shades, etc. Headed to Park Cafe deck 8 for salad & sandwiches at 11:30. Then split up to explore. Girls went for a dip in pool/hot tub. Guys went to find rooms. Beware they use set sail pass for towels and charge $25 if you don't bring it back! Rooms open at 1pm. Waited for luggage but not for long. Ship was clean as a whistle!*Food was very good. Dining service was excellent. Did not eat at Windjammer but heard it was ok. Breakfast at Solarium or Main dining room. Ate lunch at specialty "G's"Italian and it was awesome. Two groups bought the wine pkg and that was more than enough. Had a few drinks at pool side/bars but that was enough for me. Others went overboard and I bet they paid dearly for it. *Found the gym but the running/walking track was my home during early mornings. I loved it and walked 3 miles each day for inner peace and solitude.*Entertainment comedy show, Hairspray, high diving, aerial, small clubs, Mosiac!, karaoke. Casino only twice -I lost. Save your money shop at ports. People watching was the best! Too windy for zip line so it was closed most of the time. *Room - 11th deck Central Park Balcony would opt for ocean view. All I could really see was room across and people sneaking a smoke. It was quiet. Attendant was Juvy and she is the best! Had trouble with safe but they came twice and then no problems. Had plenty of room, storage. Brought a power strip and shoe organizer to hang in closet for all those extras and used them. Could have used a basket (throw it away after) on small desk to toss things in. Brought sticky notes to leave info for others in group on door - gone to deck 15 etc. Moved small table out to balcony instead of tripping over it. Could not use cell phones until in US ports. Did not use internet. *Excursions-St John's Bimini Breeze is an inexpensive intro to snorkeling but really a college booze cruise. We got kicked off the beach by hotel- they think they own the beach. Saw a few fish etc.. Yuck...Bring your own mask/snorkel but use their fins. Better in Cancun. We had luck shopping in St Thomas and back side street shops. Bring US cash and barter! Taxis were cheap and fair. Leave a nice tip. Too windy for Pinel Island in St Martin so we taxi to Orient Beach. You can rent chairs cheaply. Yes, its clothing optional but everyone was friendly and the beach is very nice. Met a friend from home on the beach! Again taxi was safe and plentiful. Port shopping was fun. Nassau not so great. Such poverty and class distinction. Straw market had burnt down and not ready yet. Went to Atlantis by water taxi - only way to go! Cab/van ride back was awful and long. Atlantis only serves up to their resort clients and gambling. I did win my money back, cashed out and headed for the ship. Vegas hotels were cleaner and more elegant.* I packed lightly and wore everything. Fancy black skirt/palazzo pants with mix and match tops. One dress & same dress sandals. Bring two bathing suits and cover up.* Kids were not to be seen except at shows. I did meet two of my students by the elevators one day near the end of the trip.We had a good laugh. Mostly people were well behaved with all that booze.

Central Park View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin C1

Wished I had an ocean view - Central Park was not my style.
