Husband and I took this cruise because we wanted both the cruise experience and the ability to see many of the Hawaiian islands. We were not disappointed. While Pride of America may not be the elite cruise experience,it is comfortable, offers many options and provides a great experience for seeing the islands. For all the negative reviews, I say...if you're looking for something to complain about, you will probably find it, but if you are out to have a great time, you will. We booked 3 shore excursions..Molokini Crater snorkeling, Molihana Helicopter ride over Kauai and Downhill bicycle ride at Haleakala. All three excursions were worth it. The companies do a great job and the snorkeling was through the Pacific Whale Foundation so we supported their cause. Will recommend the helicopter tour to anyone...it was fabulous. The ship was clean, fully staffed and had a variety of entertainment, some great, some so-so overall very enjoyable. The rooms are small, especially the bathrooms but hey, you are there only to sleep!! Definitely enjoyed having a balcony to sit on and see the sights. The boat has 3 levels of restaurants.... The buffets have a wide variety of options but do get crowded quickly. Skyline and Liberty restaurants provide the sit down, be served meals that are very good. The only issue we had was my husbands steak was poor quality and I was given the wrong appetizer once but ate it anyway and enjoyed it. Some of the staff remembered us from earlier nights and struck up conversations. We didn't visit any of the specialty upcharge restaurants as we felt the food overall at the "included" spots was sufficient. Felt the staff did a great job keeping you informed of events. Appreciated the free lei making classes. If I would make any changes, it would be to provide more than just water or ice tea for the "free" drinks. Lemonade would be nice. Upcharges for even a cola is a bit excessive but we bought some from shore when we were in ports.

Cabin Review

Lots of storage space in a small room. Had room on the 11th floor and it was very convenient. Same floor as the main pool and buffet but wasn't noisy.
