We took this cruise out of Galveston because my husband wanted to go on a poker cruise. The poker was great! They had tournaments everyday and he even won one of them plus there were games going all the time while cruising. We would book another poker cruise but not out of Galveston. It was too hard to get to. You have to fly into Houston and then take a shuttle. If you live in Texas, it wouldn't be a problem.Embarkation: We did get there a little early but the shuttle from our hotel ran at that time so we had no choice. Got through the first part of showing passports etc but couldn't board the ship until after 1pm so had to wait in a warm room with a large crowd of people. When they did start boarding it went smoothly. After boarding we checked out the ship. It is beautiful! It is older but overall it looks great. FOOD: The windjammer food was ok. The dining room food was in very small portions but you could ask for more if you wanted it. It wasn't good, so you really didn't want extra. We did eat at Portifinos for an upcharge but the food was much better there. Loved our waiters in Portifinos and our dining room. Mustafa in Portifinos was very attentive and Antonio in our dining room was a sweety.Entertainment: The shows were all good. Loved the ice show! Lots to do on this ship besides just relaxing in the sun.Crew: Everyone on this ship was cordial. Our room attendant was very nice. His name was Ronald Lopez. Ready to help us with anything we needed and keeping our room clean. I really enjoyed to towel animals as well. The cruise director Mike is wonderful! I am sorry to hear that he will be doing his last cruise in May of this year. He will be missed! This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise but won't be the last.Complaints: There are a few. One would be the food. If they can do better in Portofino, they could do better in the main dining room. The KIDS! We thought this time of year would be good for people our age with grown children but there were lots of unruly Mexican children on this cruise. During the shows, they were climbing up the stairs on the sides of the stage and jumping down and the parents did nothing. Very distracting for the audience and I am sure for the performers. It seemed like they let their children stay up all night. Even the little ones. They were on Easter break!(note to self, no cruises on Easter break ever again!)Disembarkation: We were late getting off the ship which they blamed on customs. Other than that it went smoothly.Overall it was a good trip and enjoyable.

The cabin was nice. There were only 2 of us so we had plenty of room.
