The cruise was not the best we have been on. I give below the plusses and minuses.
The cabin was a nice size, bigger than usual, but no tea or coffee facilities, no laundry room, no clothesline in the bathroom, no glasses in the bathroom and no face flannels. When the face flannels were supplied, they were taken away the next day and not supplied again unless asked for.
Information on the daily sheet was solely for the purpose to encourage one to buy their excursions at two and a half times the going rate outside. When questioned about how far the nearest shopping area was and what was the going rate for taxis, information was non existent and staff verbally evasive. Why oh why was the first port of call Kuantan. There was absolutely nothing there and was purely for ship excursions. We were ashore for 10 minutes and then walked back onto the ship. No local maps were supplied for each port of call.
Docked at Patong Bay in Phuket. Found the whole town very tacky with so many girlie bars etc. Well, this is Thailand.
Even though allegedly many of the staff are english speaking, communication was virtualy impossible. Food on the whole was good.
Thought the timing of the entertainment was ludicrous. Most people like to have their evening meal and then enjoy the entertainment, but anyone on Late Sitting were completely out of sequence. However the piano bar in the Foyer Bar was very enjoyable.
Have been with Costa cruises before but I am afraid this cruise did not live up to their standards on cruises around the Meditterean.
