We are just back from our week on the Crown. Had a wonderful vacation. I have enjoyed reading all of your reviews, so here is mine.We are 2 couples in age range of 40's -50's. Our friends had a mini suite and this trip we did an inside on lido deck. I have always wanted to try a cabin on the lido deck to see if the location would be more benefical.- more about that later.Ft Lauderdale. Made our precruise stop at total wine and publix to get a few items. We were at the cruise terminal very early-9:30. I know this is early- I would rather wait outside at the cruiseport than inside the hotel room Embarkation- We received a number 1 boarding card at 10:30 we were shown inside to the waiting room. At 11:30 we were checked in and heading on the ship. My husband and friend ran up to Sanctuary to secure our seats for the week. My role was to book chef table and crown grill for last night. We were all successful with both and we all met for lunch and first cocktail. Did the life boat drill and unpacked.Dining- We thought the food for the most part was excellent. We requested the same table and waiter each night at 7:30. Our waiter was Johnny from Peru and asst Elvis. They did an excellent and professional job serving our wine and meals. I had fish almost every evening and all of it was excellent. My husband and our friend had a surf and turf quest for the week and were able to accomplish this every night. We were charged a corkage fee for every bottle of wine. We were aware of the corkage fee- but they were very diligent about it this trip. In the future we will probably not bring our wine but just purchase on board. The wine prices are within reason. Soups were a little salty, and we noticed the size of the caesar salad has gotten smaller. The rack of lamb was excellent. We did Sabatini's the second night- it was good but the guys found the veal chops a little tough. I had seabass it was excellent and we all enjoyed the appetizers. The coffee in Sabatini's tasted like a brew basket. Did the chef's table and it was wondeful service and food. Last evening crown grill- had special bottles of Opus one ordered ahead of time. We had wonderful service and beautiful cheeses served witht the wine. Food and service excellent. Neville the maitre de stopped in check on our dinner. We found him extremely visable all over the ship.We did purchase coffee card and made full use of it.Room- As i said earlier we tried an inside on the lido deck- we thought the location would be great- close to sanctuary and gym. The location is great - but every night something woke us up- like they were dragging carts across the floor above us. My husband went up and found they clean the mens locker rooms and the mop bucket was dragging on the tile floor. Princess was great they offered us another room outside on another deck. We did not move- but figured we would see if it happend again. It did but later - at 5:30. So I am guessing they asked the mopping to happen later in his shift. I was pleased with the way Princess attended to our needs. My husband enjoyed being close to steam room and gym. I did take 2 spin classes. They were good and made me feel like i did a little exercise.Sanctuary- We love it and it is worth it to us.Ports-Grand Cayman we took a cab to Royal Palms- we are early risers and were on the beach at 7:30 It was lovely to have the beach to ourselves. At lunch we shared an order of fish tacos and a beer. Excellent beach food and water was warm and clean. Purchased our rum cakes. Great day.Roatan- We missed this port due to wind and seas- we had a beach day booked with Rony. Cozumel-Took a cab to chakanaab park. Again we arrived early and enjoyed snorkle. It did get crowded and we left around 1:00. Did a little shopping and back on the ship. Had a cheeseburger - not great but ok after a day at the beach. Princess Cays- we stayed in the sanctuary.Disembarkation- off the ship at 7:05 at the airport and through security at 8:00 plenty of time to make our 10:30 flight.Summary- This was a great trip. The thing about cruises is that you can make it the trip that appeals to you. We enjoy relaxing, beach, food and wine. We are not into late night or pool games- but if you want that it is there. We did purchase future cruise credits and will either do the crown or ruby next spring.
