This cruise was the last before the GRAND went into drydock. Yes, Skywalkers was closed and the casino was closed the last three days of the cruise. While there were contractors onboard, they did not interfere with our grand time. In fact, since there was not a full load of "cruisers" we found a lack of crowds. There was always a seat in the theater, the Horizon Court (buffet) was less crowded than might be expected. Service was outstanding as usual. The dance floor was always accessible. Poolside lounges were always available. The waiters at the Captains cocktail party were most accommodating. I drink scotch and was served what I asked for, unlike the person who complained. Perhaps much depends on how you ask for "special" treatment and the attitude you display.Yes, there was banging when Skywalkers was being dismantled, but the ship is certainly large enough to move to a different location. There was no noise when seated inside and no noise at night. Someone complained about this being a geriatric cruise. A word to the wise - who else has the time or money to cruise for two weeks? Since it was spring break, a two week cruise was a sure way to avoid the college crowd. Perhaps a short cruise with spring break revelers would have been a better choice for someone wanting that kind of action. All things considered, it was a wonderful cruise at a bargain price. Perhaps Princess gave consideration to the "inconveniences" some would suffer.
