I was going to put off writing this review until I had sufficient time to compose a properly detailed account of our cruise but if I do that it will never get done. So here goes.
My wife and I cruised on the April 11, 2011 sailing of the Celebrity Equinox. As the date to departure came closer and closer we became more and more excited such that just before the cruise we actually became worried that it would not, could not, live up to our grand expectations. Just the opposite happened, the cruise exceeded our expectations.
We drove to Montreal from Ottawa, Canada and flew from there to Fort Lauderdale, Florida the morning before the cruise and stayed at the Harbour Beach Marriott Resort and Spa. It was a beautiful hotel with lots to offer. While spending some time on the beach in the afternoon we were able to see the Solstice leave Port Everglades. What a sight! The next morning when we awoke I could see the Equinox already in port from our hotel room window. It is a beautiful ship. After a leisurely breakfast and hanging around the hotel a bit longer than we really wanted to (we wanted to get on board the Equinox), we finally headed out to Port Everglades by taxi at around 11:15. Embarkation was fast and smooth. We were in concierge class and we did not have to wait in line although the other lines were not too long as they were already boarding the ship.
1062, concierge C2, mid ship on deck 10 was small but very clean. The balcony was large enough and so was the bathroom. I enjoyed the shower. The cabin was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The only complaint was that there was hardly enough room to store our clothes.
