We booked the cruise in January It was very competitively priced. On past cruises we had done the Southern Caribbean. 6 ports in 7 days. This was our fist cruise with "days at sea" as well as our first cruise that involved tendering. We flew Southwest in to Tampa the morning of our cruise. Due to the tornadoes that moved up the coast, our 8:55am departure turned into 12:30 departure.upon arrival in Tampa we found the carnival rep and got on the transfer bus. At the port I was the last person through the door. the muster drill was under way on board while we were checking in. Needless to say there was no line. quick photo and sail and sign cards were complete and vacation officially started. The ship was extremely clean and the crew was friendly as usual. This was our first time on this class of ship but we were able to find our war around without any problem. Our cabin was right below the Lido deck aft. I thought noise could be an issue with this location but I did not hear anything. Our steward was fantastic. The sofa that turned into a bed was not bad to sleep on according to my son.The dance shows were not the best, but the juggler and comedians were great. We ate in the dining room every night except Sunday and had breakfast in the dining room Monday morning. The food was good , the desserts seemed better this year . The buffets had good variety and were very popular.the ship was very clean and the newly added adult serenity area was nice.We enjoyed the days at sea. GRAND CAYMAN- was a nice port. We booked a 1/2 day excursion with Captain Marvin to stingray city and 2 snorkel stops. We arrived at 9:15 and got on one of the first tours out and we made it back in plenty of time to shop. The crew did a great job. There were 4 other ships in port that day. Stingray city was very busy. The rays were not as plentiful as I imagined due to the large number of visitors. COZUMEL-We docked at Puerta Maya .We had planned on going to Playa Palancar but The guy at the taxi terminal said he had received a call that the wind was bad and it was not worth the trip. We went to Dzul Ha-reef( Money bar) instead. It was our favorite stop on the cruise.Chairs were free. We rented fins and vest and had a great time snorkeling. The ceviche was very good. There was a taxi waiting in the parking lot when we were ready to go back to the port. ROATAN- We docked at Mahogany Bay.You could tell Carnival had spent a lot of money on this port. The beach with the "flying chairs" looked rather crowded but I would consider staying there on my next visit.WE booked the "best of Roatan" with Victor Bodden tours. It was a very good tour I highly recommend them. The island was very busy . Our guide told us the ferry from the mainland brought 15,000 people over for the Easter holiday so the beaches were very full.BELIZE- We did Goff's Caye with Carnival. It is a beautiful island and the snorkeling was pretty good.We went back to the ship , grabbed some lunch and went to the port.Since it was Good Friday most of the city was closed. The port however was wide open. The tender took about 10 min and was great. We rested on the last day at sea. The debark went ok after the non US citizens finally found their way to the lounge after being paged for 15 min. Carnival transport back to the airport and home by 4pm. Great Vacation!
