I checked out several different cruise reviews before heading out on the Celebrity Solstice for my kid's spring break trip. My husband couldn't join us due to work so I thought a cruise would be an easy vacaton. As a first-time cruiser, "single mom" travelling with two teenage kids, I found the embarkation really easy to figure out and the lines very manageable. We had a veranda stateroom which I was really happy with. The stateroom attendant kept the room immaculate and we had comfortable beds, good storage, and a nice bathroom design. We've always been a "Club Med" family but I have to admit, the quality of the food and drink aboard the Solstice was top-notch. It was truly a beautiful ship. I really enjoyed the Molecular bar,the Cafe al Baccio, and the dining room (since it's a great way to get to know other passengers on the ship.)I think when you're on a cruise sometimes your happiness with your vacation can be a matter of luck...every night during my trip I was woken at 3 or 4am by drunk neighbors making a a lot of noise in the room next to me, or two doors down partying out on their veranda. In all fairness to Celebrity, when I called guest relations, they sent someone up to ask the people to quiet down- unfortunately once you're up, you're up!If someone asked me if I would do a cruise again I would have to say I don't know that I would. I found it rather annoying that you had to be up by 7am to get a deck chair reserved, that you had to pay extra for certain fitness classes, that the pools were crazy-small. I felt like I was walking through an endless hotel--always on the wrong side from where I needed to be. The "grass lawn" seemed a little too small to be of any real use-and I felt the times at the different ports were too short to do much meaningful....and I missed pool aerobics!! I missed the Zumba!! I feel this ship was good for people with small children who are still willing to go into a kids--club or for single couples who can enjoy the bars and restaurants...I would trade the better quality drinks for some of the fun you find at a Club Med. If you're an active person, who enjoys an active lifestyle--skip the cruise!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

On 6th floor-directly above the Solstice Theatre. One night at 11:40pm there was loud music and when I called, guest services said there was a "crew event" going on.....couldn't they have done that earlier? My whole cabin shook! My suggestion--choose the back of the ship! (Aft!)
