My 11 year old son and I took Freedom of the Seas on a seven day western carribean cruise....there were many many positives and only a few negativesPositives1. Embarkation and Disembarkation....this was my seventh cruise and it is obvious that Royal Caribbean has this part down to a science....both getting on and off the ship were the quickest and easiest I have ever encountered...we took a transfer from the airport after being in Orlando for a day, and the airport personnel were courteous and helpful2. Flowrider.....this was about the most popular feature I have ever seen on a cruise ship....if you have a child between 10 and 16 they will go on this over and over again........it was awesome to watch the professional staff do their tricks too3. Royal Promenade...there were two parades that were well attended....a real treat especially for families with young children4. Cabin steward.....he was extremely friendly and helpful......our bags were late in getting to our room and he went out of his way to find them for us......and who can complain about towel animals?5. Buffet (windward).....a great variety and selection of foods for lunch and dinner (twice)...not so good for breakfast6. Jamaica and Haiti......The best tour by far was the bobsled/Dunn's River falls tour in Jamaica......walking up a waterfall was incredible, and the tour guide was engaging.....the private beach in Labadee was a real treat and the most relaxing tour by far7. Shows....the magic show was awesome.......the cruise director was hilarious and even did a great job singing on the last night8. Casino-........the friendliest staff on the shipNegatives1. Amazing Cozumel Race..DON'T DO IT....You have to run thru Cozumel carrying stuff through crowded streets....an awful experience2. Crowded ship.....make sure if you take this cruise you like running up and down stairs unless you like spending lots of time waiting for elevators3. Cabin.....the cabin size was somewhat small and there were no amenities...on the other hand, you don't take a cruise to sit in your cabin4. Children's program....my son was bored with the 9-11 group......the activities were geared to the younger kids
