We booked this cruise with friends to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversaries. We flew to Miami a couple of days early and stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel and did the tourist thing. Then the day came to embark on the Norwegian Epic for our 7 day cruise. Embarkation was quite painless and quick as it was quite organized. Kudos to Norwegian in making this so great. We checked into our room and the bon voyage items that we had ordered were already present, which was great as we had ordered champagne and strawberries to toast our departure. We had also ordered a cheese plate and a message was left for us to contact them when we would like for them to bring it to our room to maintain the quality of the product. We called and they were there within 30 minutes. We booked a balcony room. The room was spacious and there was a ton of storage space. Our room had two closets to hang clothes as well as three drawers. There was also storage space behind the back of the couch as well as storage areas above the couch. We stored our luggage underneath the bed. The bed was very comfortable as well we were able to control the room temperature. You should also use the dial outside your room so staff know what you wish.We saw the Blue Men Group, Second City and Legends and had pre-booked these prior to our trip. The shows were great. We also enjoyed Howling at the Moon, Slam Allan Blues Band, Kurt Hunter and Twice as Nice. We never did make it to Spice H2O...we just ran out of time to enjoy that experience. We frequented Shakers, Maltings Beer and Whiskey, Atrium cafe, Waves Pool Bar and O'Sheehan's. We also went to the Ice Bar...if you go there make sure you wear sneakers on your feet as this will make you last in the bar longer. I recommend it as when are you going to spend time in an Ice Bar again???Food was incredible. O'Sheehan's has the best fish and chips. We ate at Taste and Manhattan Room as well as the buffet. We also booked Le Bistro and Cagneys. Both of these restaurants were great. Here I must mention the service. The Officers and crew were very accommodating and pleasant. Any servers in the restaurants that we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our cabin steward was amazing. Edmundo remembered our names after initial introductions and anticipated our needs such as fresh linen when needed, towel art, ice bucket filled and cleaned daily as well as turn down service. He was great. We also were provided with a Bridge tour. It was very informative and the Officers were very knowledgeable and courteous. We did not spend time in the casino so I can't comment on that nor did we book excursions through Norwegian. When we went to St Maartan we arrived back on the ship early and we did the waterslides then as there were not many people on board. Loungers on the sundeck were plentiful. We had a fun time bowling as well. Make sure you bring socks or you will not be allowed to bowl.We bought a spa pass and it was well worth the money. We used it everyday. My favorite part of that experience was the herbal steam bath and the ceramic loungers. Amazing!!! We also bought a posh pass which gave us an opportunity to go somewhere that did not have kids. The only negative thing that I can say about the ship was the size of the pools. They are quite small. We did have a chance to use them and the hot-tubs though as people did not stay in them for lengthy period of times. Also, you could smell sewage when in the Spice H2O section.Disembarkation was great. We were getting a taxi to the airport and it was not an issue to get a taxi. Overall it was a great experience. Officer and crew work very hard to make a memorable experience for their travelers and you can see that they take pride in their work. Also, I liked that we were able to keep track of our expenses as well as able to see the view from the bridge on the TV.
