We booked a balcony class cabin through the cruise line's website and it was clearly advertised through our credit card that we would get $200 on-board credit. When we checked in, we were only given $100 credit. Since we still in port, we immediately called our credit card company and also went to the reception desk to clarify. All they could tell us was that "your booking only has $100 credit". Ou cruise documents and signs all over the embarkation hall informed us that w had to check our luggage in as it exceeded the stipulated size. However, the baggage check in counter NEVER opened. None of the staff managing the queue seemed to be aware of this even while they were standing in full view of the counter with the lights off and no one there. They kept passing the buck by telling us to ask the next person in the check in process. Finally at the check in counter we asked the staff that did the actual check in and handed us our passes, informing him that the baggage check in was STILL closed (it was about 1/2 hour before boarding time by then) and what could we do with our bag? He said "Check it in at the baggage counter there". We pointed out to him that there was no one there - this was within his line of vision! Finally we just lugged our suitcase up the gangway ourselves. Eventually we surmised that most of the people on this cruise were here to gamble at the casino and didn't need any clothes - most people just had a little sports bag. They were letting in people to the fine dining restaurant dressed in t-shirts an shorts. The swimming pool was mostly empty and we never had a problem getting a whole jacuzzi to ourselves. On the first night, we attended an event at the Galaxy of the Stars called "Choco Madness Night". It was billed as "come for an evening filled with chocolate, dancing and fun". We went for it only because we are chocolate lovers. When we sat down, the wait staff even told us not to bother to order any food with our drinks as there would be chocolate given out later. We sat through cigarette smoke filled discomfort and inane jokes and high school style dancing still waiting for our chocolate....it never materialised. Breakfast in the buffet restaurant is terrible especially the savoury selections (leather like bacon). The Magic show was a little tedious and repetitive. We enjoyed the zumba lessons and the gym. The staff were helpful and friendly, mostly Filippino and mainland Chinese but with much better English than usual.
