Traveled with children

Me, my husband, and 2 of my children (aged around 10-17) went on the Carnival Glory departing from Manhattan, NY on September 2nd, 2010 till September 6th, 2010. This cruise was not what I expected!Embarkation: We had a family member drive us to the port in Manhattan (Pier 88). We didn't wait that long in lines. We got on to the port, they asked for passports and checked us in, to get our cabin cards. They took pictures for our card which took about 5 min. Then they gave us a number so we had to wait about 10 min till they call our number so we can get inside the Glory. Before they did that, we were assigned to take a picture with a photo stand with the Glory, by the photographer.Food: Food was okay. We had the same food everyday in the buffet, as well as the restaurants. What they had for the morning buffet was, omelet (any type of ingredient), cakes (cheese cake, chocolate cake, etc..), pancakes, and more. For lunch buffet we had sausages, any type of soups, sandwiches, macaroni, and more. We were assigned to go to the Platinum Restaurant at 6:30 every evening. (We thought we would be able to pick our own restaurant but NO they picked it out for US). In the dining area, we ordered pizza, steak, and that's all every evening because there wasn't much to choose from. We didn't like the desserts that they had.Pool: The slide was great. But, there were really long lines. There were 2 pools. One opened one and one closed one on another deck. The pool was really cold!Cabin: We ordered a Ocean-View cabin. It wasn't so small, it wasn't so big. There was a king sized bed, and a bunk bed (with closets). We had 4 big closets inside our cabin. When we flushed the toilet in out bathroom, I was sure the neighbors heard the sound. Shower wasn't that small. What I liked about the bathroom is, near the sink, they had a bucket of tooth paste, gum, and shavers.Ports: We only visited 1 port, Canada, New England. It was raining that day. We haven't liked that port because of too much rain AND the mall was very cheap!I do not recommend this cruise to anyone, nor ANY Carnival cruise line!!!!!!!!
