What a great time. Everything was fantastic. We had a porthole cabin in the front of the ship on the Riviera deck. The cabin was as spacious as any other cabin plus it was out of the main traffic area. Nobody wandered up there - very quiet a night. This was especially noticeable since we cruised during spring break and there were a lot of children on board (more than a third of the passengers were under the age of 21). I would probably pick another time of year to cruise; however, nothing ever got out of control - it was just loud. Our cabin steward filled the ice cooler that we board twice a day. The first day our shower drain was stopped-up and water ran into the bathroom. We called guest services and they had a plumber there in less than an hour and they fixed the problem. Guest services called back to insure that the problem was resolved. We were only in our cabin to sleep, shower and dress. Other than that, I don't see the need for anything more luxurious. The meals were great. The food on the Lido deck varied from day-to-day (i.e. Italian, Caribbean, etc.). Of course, there were always the staples of burgers, dogs and fries available. The salad bar was fresh and there were always deli sandwiches and pizza available too. The dinner meals were very good. Again, always a variety every night. Our waiters, Alex and Jeffrey, were first class. They could work in any 5 star restaurant. They were very efficient and personable. Francis, the maitre d' was very friendly and accommodating. He got us a larger table in a better location in the Mardis Gras dining room. He always spoke to us every evening when we entered the dining room. He is a very, very nice person. The fitness center had good, modern, well-kept equipment. The mini golf area looked a little worn and could use some TLC.There were always some kind of activities to attend if one desired to do so. The shows were really good - very professional. The entertainers were talented and full of energy. The "Shout" program was especially entertaining. They couldn't have done a better job.I would definitely go on another Carnival cruise. The Inspiration isn't their largest ship, but it is a good size to get around in and offers most any amenity that one would want. Kudos to the Captain and staff for a great trip!
