Things I loved about Soltice; the non-smoking. There were only a couple of areas that people were allowed to smoke and it was enforced. I was totally amazed that that all of the bars, lounges and clubs, as well as, the casino were smoke free. This was fantastic. My favorite area was the Solarium. The atmosphere was so relaxing with the quiet music, the aromas from the the spa and an adult only area. The cabins were nicely appointed with the flat screen TVs, and the nice deck chairs on the balconies and all the storage in the bathrooms. The ship was easy to navigate and I didn't feel like I had to walk miles to get to anything. The grassy area on the top deck was a nice surprise. We had the best captain on any ship I have been on. He mingled with the crowds, participated in activities and made the guests feel very comfortable and welcome. Now for the not so good part. I traveled by myself on this cruise and felt I was treated as a "second class citizen" in the dining room. I had chosen the 6:00 seating and my travel agent asked for a large singles table. When I arrived at the dining room I was told by the Maitre D that I had not been assigned a table because they did not receive my preferences. However, I know my travel agent specifically sent in my preferences because she copied me on the email. I also heard him tell this to another solo traveler. After meeting quite a few solo travelers on the ship, I learned that they told most of them this same story. I was seated at a table with couples but I was looking for other single people as we would have more in common. After dinner I asked if he could make a singles table and was told he would reassign a table and send the table number to my cabin. I never received anything in my cabin so I asked again on the second night and he said he had assigned me to another table. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a table of people my mother's age. On the 3rd evening, we were in port and did not get back on the ship by 6:00. I went to the dining room at 7:00 and was told my the female Maitre D that she could not seat me until 8:30. However, there were couples in the same situation that were being seated. At this point I decided to go to the alternative dining so I could sit at a different table each night anytime and meet new people. My suggestion for this: you know who is traveling alone. It would be very easy to set a table for single people. We were paying double since there is no break in price for traveling alone. Give us the same respect you give couples. This was my first time on Celebrity and I thought the level of service was better on Carnival. The only other negative was boarding. It took 2 1/2 hours to get on the ship. It seemed the lines were endless. I understand there was a problem with the gangway but we weren't given much information. We just went from one line to another and it seemed very disorganized. All said, I had a wonderful cruise. I met great people and ended dining with them after the 4th day.

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

Great storage spaces, good location to public areas, quiet, nice chairs on balcony. Pillows were lumpy but bed was comfortable.
