My partner and I decided to take this Ryndam cruise mainly because it left out of Tampa, where we live only 3 miles from the port. We were so glad we did,as this cruise turned out to be the best one yet.The Ryndam is a beautiful ship, although it is aged, she is in immaculate condition. We were driven to the termimal by my partners sister and arrived at about 10:30 A.M. We breezed through check-in and were given group number 3 to board. At about 11:30 they started the boarding process and we entered the ship on Main deck, which was where our cabin was located. We had a large outside room we was ready for us upon boarding. I am so glad Holland America has this procedure down pat.Our 2 room stewards greeted us, Dharma and Derry. They provided us with excellent service throughout the cruise. We then proceded to the Rotterdam dining room where we had a special Mariner's lunch. This sure beats going to the Lido buffet,as on embarcation day the Lido is mobbed. The lunch was fantastic, and this was such a nice way to begin the cruise. The ports of call on this cruise was Key West, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel. We had perfect weather every day waith calm seas and light winds with temperatures mostly in the 80's. We took the Hop On-Hop Off Trolley in Key west which took us all over the town, and we were able to get on and off at 9 different stops. We visited Hemingway House which is an awesome tour to take. It is a beautiful property with over 40 cats, some of whice our six-toed.The next day was spent at sea, and we enjoyed laying out at the Sea View pool located on the aft of the Ryndam. Beautiful cool water and great drinks served by the waiters poolside. This was a pure joy and loved spending the time out by this pool and the Lido Pool also.Jamaica was next, and we did not get off the ship there. We enjoyed having the peace and quiet of a nearly empty ship. We ate lunch that day at the Terrace Grill which is located by the Lido Pool. Excellent hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries were had by the both of us, along with a few icy cold drinks from the Lido Bar.The next day was Grand Cayman. This is a beautiful island which is very clean and the people very friendly. We had an excursion to 7 Mile Beach. We took the tender to the pier, and we were taken to the beach where we had a lounge chair with umbrella, and received a welcome drink. We went into the beautiful turquoise waters of the Caribbean. It was heavenly. The next day was Cozumel. and we just again enjoyed the ship which again was nearly empty. We had a late departure from there around 8:00 P.M. and it was a fantastic sail away.A little about the ship. It was beautiful in every place we saw. Public areas were very well maintained and the bars were very nice. All of the stall were very friendly and always greeted you with a big smile. The food in the dining room was by far the best I have had with excellent service and staff. Food was always hot and had great presentation. You won't good hungry here.Well that's about all for now. We are already planning our next cruise with Holland America, as I really love their service and staff as well as their beautiful ships. Sail with Holland America and you won't go wrong.Happy Sailing everyone!!!!
