We have been on two other AMAWaterways cruises (Danube from Budapest to Nuremberg and Main/Rhine/Mosel from Nuremberg to Trier) and although this was unlike the other two it still embodied everything that AMA does well ... SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE.Embarkation was smooth, the cabins were ready at 11am, the Cruise Manager (Marion) was there to greet us with the Captain (Henk), the ship was sparkling and we felt like part of a family when we boarded. The cruise itself was hectic (meaning, we spent little time on the ship during the day as the schedule was so busy ... we did do the two EXTRA excursions to Brussels and Brugge). The food was EXCELLENT, the staff unbelievably attentive and personable (knew our names the 2nd day and used them consistently).I would recommend this cruise to anyone who who likes 'total immersion'. Every moment of every day seemed to be filled with something to do with Holland or Belgium. There was not much time just to relax and enjoy the ship and the crew (breakfast and dinner ... and sometimes lunch). No 'river cruising' during the day as the ship often met us at a new location while we were out 'touring'.All in all a highly recommendable experience (if you are active and like to be kept busy).AMA is still the best on the rivers (even better than Scenic, their main competitor).
