My husband, 26 year old son, 16 year old daughter and I went on a cruise during spring break on the Norwegian Sun to the eastern Caribbean out of Port Canaveral, FL. My husband and I had previously been on Norwegian cruise and enjoyed it, so we decided to go on one again. We had no problem with embarkation except the women who checked us in was not friendly and never smiled. Bad day I guess. We went to our staterooms and were greeted by a tiny 15 inch TV and a very hard bed. The last cruise on Norwegian had awful beds. Ok, we probably won't spend that much time in our room and it is only for a week. (You should not say this on your vacation) The ship is really showing its age and the refurbishing it got in January 2011 was not in the staterooms. Our room steward never introduced himself and we hardly ever saw him. This was a change from all the other cruises I had been on. I wrote him a note and left some money to get a few softer pillows and he left them. He did do something we thought was very strange. On the third day he took all the stationary, postcard and info pages out of the binder they left in the rooms and only left the room service menu. Speaking of room service, it was one of the smallest selection of items I have seen on a cruise. The food that we got was ok but not many choices. Ex: Hamburger, hotdog, omelet, turkey sandwich, pizza (made with artificial cheese) the hamburger was the best thing. We went to Nassau and we enjoyed a taxi tour and learned about conch. We had some ice cream and Conch fritters, which were delicious. The next day was at sea and my husband and I went to the dining room for breakfast. The food was very good. We stayed in a decided to watch a movie on our tiny TV. They had two movies channels that showed different movies all day, the only problem was the movie channels all looked orangey and were very dark. We also got three news channels and E- television and four other Norwegian info channels. The food in the Four Seasons dining room was always very good. The service was a little uneven but not bad. Some nights we had terrific waiters and others just ok. We do like the Freestyle cruising where you get decide the time you eat though. The buffet upstairs had great breakfast with made to order omelets and eggs and waffles along with many other choices and we ate up there the rest of the week after the first day. Lunch on the other hand was just ok. They did have a stir fry station and pasta station but it was just ok. Lunch in the dining room was very good. My husband loved the cheesesteak sandwich and I had different things. The chocolate buffet was a waste of food and energy. The desserts were made with gelatin fillers and chocolate coating unlike the desserts you could get at dinner or lunch in the main dining room. We also had an incident where a waitress told us to move to the other line and that everything was the same in both but was not even close to being true. In St. Thomas we did some shopping. Great place to buy liquor. The liquor on the ship was much, much, more expensive. We ate a great restaurant called Cuzzins a block off the main shopping street. They have Caribbean food. We have eaten there before and it was still very good.Next day in St. Maarten we shopped and ate lunch and bought some jewelry. Great deals at Diamonds International (you must bargain though). Ask for Sam, a young man from India. He was very helpful.Entertainment on the ship was ok. The main shows were pretty good and don't miss the Liars Club. It is very funny. They also had a great comedian. The shows in the other bars were hit or miss depending on who was playing. The drinks at the bars were good but they were always in the more expensive take home plastic cup unless you specified and on the last two days they used the more expensive liquor and continued doing it unless you said something ahead of time. One night before the show they got up and advertised this special for pull-tab gambling tickets along with special bingo cards at a great price. All you had to do was hold up your sailing cards and they would come around and sell them. Well, after he said this he disappeared and all these people were holding their cards in the air. The show started and after it was over and gentleman saw the cruise guy and asked him about it and he said, Oh, we'll have them tomorrow. They have too many announcements. Forget trying to take a nap on a sea day. I think people can read the paper and do not need two announcements about the same event within 15 minutes of each other. The last time we went on Norwegian, we were overwhelmed with the great service, good food and friendly people. It is NOT like this anymore. Norwegian and has gone way DOWNHILL.Overall, I cannot recommend this cruise or Norwegian cruise line to anyone, when I know I have had better experiences on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity. There are too many other better choices!

6020 was on the Oslo deck and had a outside picture window. It had plenty of closet space. Bathroom layout was pretty small and good luck shaving in that shower. Bed extremely hard and uncomfortable. Television was very tiny only around 15 inches.
